“Web&GIS” mini-conference, December 2, 2011

As it can be seen from its title, “Web&GIS” is the conference at the junction point of two branches: Internet and Geoinformatics. Technological integration in such areas as web-mapping, navigation or geo-context advertisement requires a dialog between specialists of these two communities. Web&GIS mini-conference is envisaged as a platform for such a dialog between “Internet-surfers” and “GIS-enthusiasts”.

For the first time such event was held in 2009, initiated and organized by ScanEx RDC and Yandex. This year the second mini-conference will be arranged and is to be held straight after and on the grounds of the 5th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”.

Main topics of the new event will be:

  • Navigation and geolocation
  • Internet and GIS within e-government
  • Legal and regulatory grounds for geoinformatics
  • Basic spatial data for users and companies
  • Web-GIS software applications
